Convert your Foamy to a 24-hour mission capable flyer with ERC’s custom T-28 ‘Foamy’ LED Mini Nav system.  Although custom designed for Park Zone’s popular 44” T-28 Trojan ‘Foamy’, the kit is versatile and will easily adapt to any aircraft up to a 60” span.  The T-28 system features 5 cutting edge ultra bright 5mm LEDs that will light up your ‘foamy’ like a Christmas tree.  It consists of red and green wing Marker lights, a 50ft. beam Landing light with chromed reflector, white Tail light either solid glowing or flashing (your choice) and a red  Belly Strobe that slowly ‘ramps’ up to full intensity, quickly fades and re-sequences for a very realistic Marz Light beacon effect.  Flashing circuits feature user programmable dual adjustments for Rate (flash speed) and Duty-Cycle (LED on vs. off timing).

  

 

All LEDs are pre-wired on 32 AWG micro wires that become virtually invisible at a short distance.  Installation is a breeze.  Choose from a quick install with wires taped to the outside or go for the clean ‘scale’ install with all wires hidden from view.  Just follow the step-by-step series of install pix.  Extra wire and shrink tubing is included.  Special LED lens caps make for a great looking finish as well as scatter the narrow beam of an ultra-bright 180 degrees for all around visibility which is 100 + yards daytime and 3,000 + yards nighttime!

TMX Kar-Lites

Description & Overview

 

 

The TMX Kar-Lites is a uniquely crafted LED vehicle scale lighting kit designed for today’s scale On and Off road nitro/gas and electric cars and trucks.   Compact and full of features, its rugged design is able to withstand tremendous abuse and operate trouble free in all environmental conditions.   The heart of the system is enclosed within a high impact ABS case and protected from problems caused by dirt, mud, moisture/water, nitro fuel and gas.   Its modular design allows an RC’er to buy the controller, lights and accessories separately or together as a kit.   One controller can be used to operate several lighted body shells, if desired.

 

The Master Control unit (MCU) has 9 lighting inputs that will handle over 3 dozen mega brite LEDs.   The six main lighting inputs are Tx remote switchable.   Two other inputs are Aux. power type to supply direct plug in LED harnesses or Accessory modules with continuous power.   A third Aux. power input is also TX remote switchable.   There are five built in circuitry options available.   The first is a mercury switch that during deceleration simulates brake lights by intensifying the taillights by a factor or 3 x +.   The second is an Infra Red switch that automatically turns main lights (except brake lights) on/off according to the ambient light conditions for which it is easily user programmed.   Example: if the sun becomes temporarily blocked by a cloud, the lights switch on and then off when it passes by.   At dusk, the lights switch on automatically.   The IR switch can also be adjusted for continuous ‘on’.   The other options are Power & Electronic systems monitoring, Low Fuel monitoring or all three.   The MCU label clearly identifies all inputs by category and function.   Main Lights:   Head, Tail & fog.   Aux Lights:   Additional Head, Tail, Fog, Running Lights for trucks and Undercarriage Lights.   Several accessories are available:   KC Lights, Emergency Stobe(s), Police Lights, Interior Lights, Turn Signals, Sonic Back-up Lights, Parking Lights and Siren.   These are optional modules that plug into inputs labeled “AC” (accessories).

 

The system operates on a voltage range from 4 to 10 volts.   Since LEDs only use 1/10th, the power of incandescent bulbs, the MCU can be plugged directly into any spare RX slot or use a ‘Y” adapter to plug into a used slot and barely change drive time duration.   LEDs are far more rugged than regular filament bulbs and will withstand a lot of abuse and burn cool for 100,000 hours plus.  

 

The kit comes prewired for practically ‘plug & play’ drop in operation and includes a hardware package for mods, if necessary.   Included for headlamps are chromed metal reflector LED holders and colored lens cap LED holders for other lights.   Remote TX operation requires an optional E-Switch that plugs into switchable circuit inputs.   The master controller is Lifetime Warranted.  

 

All lights are #10 bin (highest quality) State of The Art Mega Bright 5mm round LEDs and have a visibility of 500+ ft daylight and 3,000 yards nighttime.   The headlights cast a 50+ ft beam of pure blue/white light.

 Description & Overview

 The TMX Mini Kar-Lites kit is a miniature uniquely rugged scale lighting system designed to meet the most abusive demands of today’s on and off RC Vehicles. It will easily survive dirt & hard surface crashes and grueling competition racing. Its solid-state components are internally potted and sealed which allow you to run it through dirt, mud, snow and rain. Its module is immune to severe vibration, shock and all nitro and gas fuels.

 The cutting edge LEDs are amazingly brilliant and daylight visible for well over 100 yards and over 3,000 yards nighttime. Operating over a 4 – 10v range the current drawn is so slight it can be plugged directly into or Y’d into any Rx slot without a noticeable change in running time.

 The Mini-Lights module incorporates an exclusive and unique feature. A micro motion sensor that senses deceleration and intensifies the taillights by a factor of 3X plus, i.e. automatic brake light simulation. The main advantage is it does not have to hook up to any other special device. Which means it can be used for both fuel and electric vehicles.

 Another feature is the On/Off switch input that allows you to manually or remotely control the light with an E-Switch (electronic). Lights can be controlled from the Tx. If you prefer, automatically control the lights with ERC’s exclusive infrared switch that senses ambient light. It is user programmable for any lighting condition.

 Installation is a breeze. The modules’ so compact that it can be tucked away most anywhere and stuck on by hook & loop tape.

 The module has 3 plug-in style inputs. Headlights, taillights and an auxiliary light input commonly used for fog lights. If preferred, plug in undercarriage or a string of 4-12 running lights. Two advantages of the plug-in design are . . . easy body removal and also one Master Control unit (MCU module) can be used to control many other pre-lit vehicles. OVERVIEW

FEATURES:  

 

What is it?   A user programmable micro processor based voltage supervisor

 

Lithium chemistry power packs have created a revolution in electric flight.  Their advantages have exceeded expectations and opened up a whole new world of R/C flight experience.  But, unfortunately they also have their drawbacks.  They're considerably more expensive then NiCd and NiMH packs and unforgiving if treated carelessly - improper charging technique over discharging, etc.  One of the main disadvantages is their discharge curve.  Unlike NiCd or NiMH packs it's extremely short and doesn't allow much room for mistakes.  So, when we take to the sky one thing we must do is carefully time each flight.  However, since flying patterns, styles and maneuvers usually vary from flight to flight, there's a lot of guesswork involved along with a certain amount of worry for fear of an aircraft suddenly losing enough power for safe return.  Particularly Heli's which will just 'drop out of the sky' like a rock.  For those who want to just have fun flying and not risk their aircraft and expensive LiPo pack to chance - the simple solution is an onboard LiPo pack supervisor that does everything for you - inexpensively and AUTOMATICALLY.        

 

Where to Install

 

To install all you need is a light duty soldering pencil and a minimal amount of soldering skill.  The unit is designed to watch the entire pack voltage drop under real time load, not the regulated voltage to the Rx.  So, it must be hardwired directly to the ESC side of the pack's plug or the ECS's PCB battery lead-in connection point.  Just make sure polarity is correct Red (+) to Red - Black (-) to Black.  Following this method the unit will be deactivated when the plug is disconnected.

 

How Does It Work?

 

A cutting edge technology Ultra Bright LED is used to provide visual warning for several hundred feet in the daylight.  You can also choose a model with an audible sounder, which can be heard on a fly-by, if you prefer.  When you plug in the pack a brief flash (and chirp) alerts that the device has been enabled.  At this point the device is on active standby.  The indicator(s) remain off drawing only micro amp current until the pack reaches a user programmed trip point.  We suggest a minimum of 3.5v per cell which provides about 20-30 sec. warning depending on how hard you push the flight.  For more warning time set the trip point at 3.6v per cell.  Because the device is supervising loaded voltage and load depends on how hard the aircraft is pushed . . . load will vary during the flight.  You may get a brief warning during a particularly heavy load maneuver.  This lets you know you're nearing the programmed threshold.  When the warning is sustained it's time to bring it in.

The LXS 21 and LVS 32  are precision micro-processor based instruments designed specifically for R/C models powered by Lithium Polymer (Li-Poly) or Lithium Ion (LI-Ion) technology battery packs.  Their primary purpose is to provide a visual [and if desired audible] warning of a low battery condition which can destroy expensive Lithium packs.  Also provides early warning before Lithium pack 'drop-out' so full control of model can be maintained for safe retrieval and re-charge. 

The LXS 21   (16v Max.)  and LVS 32  (32v Max.)  are manufactured to mil spec standards using state of the art IC chips and surface mount components which makes them very rugged, highly reliable and very accurate. The visual warning is provided by cutting edge Ultra-Brite LED technology.  A 3/8" square 85 db or 105 db (for larger aircraft) audible sound device available as an option, if desired.
 

 

GEM 2000 "Electronic Guardian"

The GEM 2000 (G2K) is far more than a battery monitor. It's a versatile, uniquely designed "real-time" early warning trouble shooting instrument that detects/alerts users to problems and potential failures for the seven most common onboard failure points. ALTERNATE CASING

Although the G2K is enclosed in a break-resistant ABS plastic case and weighs only 8.4 grams, it is also encapsulated in shrink-wrapped versions which reduces it to 5.6 grams (.2) oz. for very small models where every gram saved my be important.

S.O.S. ALERT
Lost Aircraft Locator

The S.O.S Alert is designed to enable a modeler to quickly locate a downed aircraft in rough terrain via a loud audible alert signal. It's rugged compact SMT design consists of an IC timer chip, case mounted arm button. A remote 87db piezo sounder and 9v battery cap with an inline on/off micro toggle switch. Since Rx batter packs often disconnect on 'impact' an independent 9v battery is a major advantage. Operation is simple. After the pre-flight check turn S.O.S. power switch on and you will hear an audible signal. Push auto timing button to enable 17-19 minute time out. MULTI - SYSTEM

The Multi-System unit designed to independently monitor several isolated onboard receivers and/or battery packs. It provides all the functions of the GEM 2000 (G2K) in one convenient case which saves space and eliminates the need for multiple modules. Each monitoring circuit is completely isolated having its own individual power lead and LED warning indicator. LEDs may all be the same color or mixed colors and are on 7" extensions. Extensions may be shortened or lengthened if necessary. All voltage presets may be the same or mixed. There are 3 models to choose from.


LOW FUEL WARNING

LFI ALERT

The LFI alert is a simple effective unit designed to warn of in-flight low fuel condition. A single lead extends from the units case and terminates in 2 insulated fuel probes that are inserted into any size fuel tank through pressure seals. If probes are installed on the tank top, the fuel level warning is adjustable. One probe pushes to the bottom, the other to the desired warning level. The LFI sense the resistance of the fuel via contact with both probes which is dedicated by the LED flashing quickly at about 5 - 6 pulses per second. When fuel is absent the flash rate instantly drops to 1 pulse per second. Probes are insulated to prevent false indications from ordinary fuel sloshing. Warns for all blends of 'nitro fuel'. Fuel probes cone in several lengths and the probe lead is 15" standard but may be shortened or lengthened.

LFI SERIES

Same as LFI alert but also includes all of the G2K monitoring features for power and electronics monitoring.

Both models are afforded in all 4 of the G2K versions 'Standard' - 'Remote' - 'Twin-Lites' and 'Tip-Lites'. Pressure seals should be replace annually to maintain leak proof seal.


PLX - PILOT-LITE

What RC'er hasn't left the Rx switch on accidentally, went to fly only to find a deap pack?  Never Again!

The Pilot-Lite plugs or 'Y's" into any Rx slot.  A quick glance from up to 100ft lets you know pack on/off status via a solid glowing or flashing LED.  chose from 5 diffenent solid glowing LED's or flashing Ruby Red.  Very easy install - drill 1/4" hole in any visible surface location, insert LED clip and snap in LED.  Comes with 6" lead with universal plug or choose any length desired.  current draw is not enough to notice with any pack voltage.  Compatible with all Radio Systems and battery chemistries.  Comes with a Lifetime Warranty. 

 


SWITCHES

'SuperRocker'

The 'SuperRocker' is a Lifetime - No Fail heavy duty switch harness designed to eliminate the modern day radio systems "weak link" problem.

The switch body is a mini I6A heavy duty double pole-double throw mil grad rocker switch capable of caring currents associated with much larger switches. It's designed to endure over 1,000,000 reliable operations at R/C voltages. For convenience, the wire harness is longer than normal and for safety it's encapsulated with mil grad shrink tubing silicone to make it vibration proof. A charge plug is also incorporated and for identification it is shorter than the battery and Rx leads. The rocker knob is white ink stamped (- o) for "on / off" status and has a positive snap action that prevents inadvertent operation. The 22AWG heavy wires and gold pin plugs are rated by ANSI (American National Standards Institute) at 7 continuous amps allowing for a 100% safety factor. The female plug is a Fut. "J" and the male plugs are universal "S" making it compatible with all modern radio systems. Silver plated, self-cleaning thick blade contacts and terminals insure a lifetime of trouble free operation with high current loads. Outside dimensions are 3/4" x 1/2".  It's designed to snap in securely without hardware

Versions

InvisiSwitch

Description

MAGNETIC ONBOARD Rx COMBO CHARGE/SWITCH

The InvisiSwitch (ISW) is technically a magnetic latching reed switch. It has no external moving parts to wear out and it is unnecessary to physically touch it at anytime. It's designed to be entirely hidden within an R/C model and mounts with double sided tape. Passing the included small magnet by its concealed location activates it "on" or "off". Once latched "on"  it will endure a minimum of 30G's of vibration and 50G's of shock. It's rated for a minimum of 100,000 operations at 5 amps "turn-on" and will take brief 10 amp surges. A flashing red LED indicates status that when active only consumes 1 mA of current. It incorporates a universal "S" male charge plug and Rx plug along with a Futaba "J" female battery plug making it compatible with most popular radios. The "ISW" is hermetically sealed to be completely water and fuel proof. It weighs 14 grams (1/2oz) and measures 2 -¾ x 5/8 x 3/8 inches. The ISW-S1 model is for single battery systems while the ISW-S2 model is for dual battery systems. The activating magnet is referred to as a "key" and any high density magnet can be used.

LIGHTING SYSTEMS                                     

Micro SunBrites

SunBrites are specifically designed for park flyer sized electric/nitro heli’s & airplanes. The incredibly brilliant micro LEDs are about the size of a hatpin head yet can be seen in the daylight for hundreds of feet and hundreds of yards after sunset. A typical 3 light system only weighs about 2 grams making it ideal for ‘parkflyers’

Current drain is so slight that most Rcers don’t notice a difference in flight time. You have a choice of either a Ruby Red, Diamond White or Sapphire Blue strobing Beacon, adjustable for both flash speed and duration or red ‘Ramping’ Beacon that simulates a Rotating Beacon. Choose either the Heli version kit (small or large) which requires no soldering or the Airplane version kit which also is pre-wired for ‘plug & play’ and includes a hardware package for expansion if necessary and inline connectors for easy wing removal. The airplane version kit can also be used for 30 – 60 size Helis. Operational voltage range is 5 – 15 volts. Systems simply plugs or ‘Y’s” into any Rx slot. Kits range from 3 – 7 LEDs.

Description: The master control unit (MCU) is the heart of the system. All PCB circuitry is protected within a high impact ABS case measuring 2-1/16 x 1-5/16 x 9/16. The basic module has 12 gold pin inputs that individual LED light harnesses and accessories conveniently plug into. The inputs are clearly labeled by name and function. The MCU will handle over 3 dozen Mega Brite LED’s .

The MCU has 2 (or 3 depending on options) microprocessor controlled flashing circuits for the Beacon, AC & Belly Strobes. The standard Beacon circuitry is strobing style.  *The optional Beacon circuitry is Ramping style – light slowly ‘ramps-up’ to full intensity, quickly fades and re-sequences. All flashing circuits are ‘user friendly’ dual adjustable for rate (speed) & Duty Cycle (on/off duration). The standard AC & Belly Strobe circuit(s) are strobing style. Ramping Belly Strobe is optional.
 
AC & Belly Strobes flash in sync in the Basic MCU. However, optional circuitry allows for non synchronized random flashing for a very realistic and cool effect.
 
The MCU is constructed with precision, State of the Art SMD’s (Surface Mount Devices), built to Mil Spec standards and is Lifetime Warranted.
 
Remote Tx Operation
Nav, Landing and Spotlight circuits are separate which means they can be independently switched remotely from the Tx by choosing any of the available switch options
 
Switches Available
-           Single Op. Micro Switch – Plugs into any spare Tx channel slot to control 1 switchable circuit
-           Dual Op. Micro Switch – Plugs into any spare Tx Channel slot controlled by a Rotary or 3 position Toggle Switch on the Tx. This will allow both NAV & Landing Lights to be switched independently using only 1 Tx slot.
-           IR Switch – Adjustable Infra Red Light Sensing switch automatically controls NAV Lights on/off function according to ambient light condition set for. 
 
 
 
Accessory Power
Input number 12 will supply power to one or more accessory modules available such as Interior Lighting, Panel Lighting, etc or additional LED Light Harness or Light Strings.
 
LED LIGHT HARNESSES
All Harnesses are complete and ready to plug into the appropriate MCU Input. Lead lengths are according to model size and include routing. Also included are LED protective, light disbursing appropriately colored Lens Caps. Chromed Metal Reflectors are included for Landing & Spot Lights.
 
Quality
LEDs are rated for quality and assorted into 10 numbered bins. Each bin contains identical LEDs that have been matched for color purity, clarity, brilliance and wavelength. Number 10 bin is the very best (and most expensive). Commercially made lighting kits often consist of lower bin numbered LEDs because they are much less expensive. ERC kits use only #10 bin quality. Two sizes are available – 5mm or 3mm. Select all LED harnesses to be either 5mm or 3mm or mix & match both. Choose either 26AWG or 32AWG micro wire.
 
Visibility factor:
            Daylight        5mm = 500ft              3mm = 200ft
            Nighttime      5mm = 3,000yards     3mm = 1,000yards
LEDs draw only 1/10th the current of incandescent lights. They glow cool and have a life expectancy of 100,000 hrs.

POWER SUPPLY   
Because of LOW current drain, Maxi-Lites can be plugged into any spare Rx slot or Y’d into any used slot. If preferred use an auxiliary pack with a Charge/Switch Harness. Power supply can range from 4.8 to 7.4vdc. You can also, on request, have the system designed to operate on power supplies of up to 22.2vdc.
 
The ERC Maxi-Lites kits are constructed of individual components, which allows for a variety of options, switches, effects and configurations. The main advantage of this is that you are actually constructing your own customized system, built to your exact specs and operational needs. Your system will come to you complete and ready to ‘drop in’. A comprehensive ‘User’s Guide’ is included. If the system is for a specific model Heli or Airplane a photo is usually included with details on configuration and dimensions. Each kit is carefully handcrafted over an 8-12 hour period and entirely made in the U.S.A.  
Before shipping, a Maxi-Lites kit is temporarily assembled and undergoes a 48hr ‘burn-in’ test procedure for quality assurance of component integrity and operational functionality.

HOW TO BEGIN     
 
  1. Begin constructing your system by selecting an MCU version designed for either a Helicopter of Airplane – the difference is that the Airplane version has inline connectors built into all wing lighting harnesses for easy ‘breakdown’. 
 
  1. Select circuitry options either individually or by the popular options combo package.
 
  1. Decide if you want remote Tx operation for one or more of the switchable circuits – NAV, Landing, Spot Light. Then select your Switch options.
 
  1. Select the necessary Light Harnesses from the list, specify the color of lights, number, size, lead length & wire gauge (AWG) on each individual harness. Allow extra wire on length for routing room.

If this product becomes defective, return it along with $5.00 for shipping & handling to Electrotek R/C and it will be repaired or replaced at no additional charge for material or labor. Electrotek R/C is not responsible for damages or injuries that may result from exceeding its stated application ratings.
